Tambambarinikini Miller becomes Mrs. TamBam Tennant!!!

One of my very best friends in life, Tami (aka TamBam, tambambarinkinini, tamamus, millertime, all things fabulous) got married! AH! We have known each other for over half our lives, and it's crazy to think of everything that has happened in our lives since we first met. I can actually remember the first time she and I met. It was in P.E. our freshman year of high school (P-V-H-S alright!) . When they called the roll, I said something stupid to Tami about liking the last name Miller because of Shannon Miller, the gymnast,...yeah...I don't know...it was a moment in a classroom portable of awkwardness. Anyway, for some blessed reason, we became friends after that, and I've loved her ever since! She was my first roommate in college (go Taylor Hall, pizza pipeline breadsticks, nicknaming, handwashing and the BYU cougars). Tami, has been a great support and help to me from age 14~..well... forever I'm sure. Tami can always make me laugh- always! She is hilarious and regardless of the situation she can lighten a heavy mood. She's down to earth and easy going. She's smart and honestly gorgeous. I really love her and was honored to be a bridesmaid on her special day. Who knew all this when we were 14?!

were a must and the "norm" people

Cherie, also a great friend I met in high school, and I threw Tami her bridal shower. Now, in all honesty, Cherie is the ultimate party planner and was nothing less than the best in this case as well. We discussed stuff, but she honestly put it all together, and I just kinda helped with the grunt work. Cherie stayed up till 5:30 AM the day of (morning of) her shower getting things just right, and I bailed about 3 hours before that hahah. Not that I didn't want to stay and help, I did, but I'm a morning person for sure and not an all night-er like Cherie. Cherie's stepmom, Jane, was also a huge help and even let us hold it at her house (thanks Jane!). It felt like old times sitting up with Cherie and Tami talking...I miss those days! Life was way more drama back in high school, but man I'm so glad to have these same friends, who stuck with me back then, staying up making cupcakes and pompoms with me now. We've had ups and downs but never stopped being friends and that's eternal friendship to me! I also felt the absence of our friends, Ryann and Jyl, who weren't in attendance, but I missed them! Can I just say, that I'm so grateful the Lord has always blessed me with amazing friends throughout my life and those 4 girls have been some of the very best. So here's some pictures of the weekend together. I appreciate all of Cherie's hard work for the shower and I hope Tami loved it.
Highlights from the shower including an "Almost Newlywed Game" where Tami and her now husband, Dave, answered very random questions. I do have to say that all of these questions were actual questions asked on the Newlywed Game and why we picked out some of the ones, I think had a lot more to do with the fact that Cherie and I compared our gathered questions  at 2AM...and everything sounded funnier and easier to answer at that time of night...sorry Tami thanks for being a good sport hahah! So a lot of the video footage didn't turn out right (either blurry for some reason or people walking in front or...someone saying something I don't want permanently placed on my blog because....whatever). But I did get some of the funniest videos on here. Cherie's husband was our host and he definitely helped the game for sure.
Tami got some great gifts but I have to say...umm...her mother-in-law gave her a whip?! Shwaaah? Just a little awkward in my opinion but memorable for sure! After the shower I got to spend a little one-on-one time with Tami as we went to the Church to decorate for the reception and then I got to spend some time with just her and Dave as they got their marriage license and his tux. I enjoyed that because although I had met Dave previously (in a crazy small world way and I didn't know at the time he was "Tami's" Dave) I hadn't gotten to really know him since they both live far away. I think they seem like a great match and I'm super excited for their life together!
Thursday night I had the privilege to be with Tami, her family, and Cherie in the Temple as she received her endowments. Then, we had the shower Friday and then on Saturday was the "Big Day". Can I just say there was a lot of crying going around? A lady asked Cherie and I if we were Tami's sisters because we were hugging each other and crying in the hall. We said, "No we're her friends" but those moments make me feel more like sisters. I got teary eyed when the coordinator man said, "You are all here for the wedding of Dave Tennant and Tami Miller" and took us back to the sealing room, but then the tears almost completely dried up until the ceremony actually started. I contained them more than Cherie right until I got to hug and congratulate Tami and then... the tears just streamed down! She cried and I cried and oh man! I was so so so so so excited for her! I just kept thinking of how proud I was of her (that sounds weird to say but it's part of how I felt) and excited and happy I was that SHE was super excited and happy!  She said, "I'm the happiest I've ever been" and my heart just almost burst! I'm crying right now just thinking about it and blogging this (man I'm a softy) ! It's amazing to see your friends move forward in their life and make good decisions. I think Dave is a good decision for sure hahah. Tami looked beautiful,  the wedding was beautiful, the reception was beautiful...man...just a great day! I'm so excited for her and for Dave. He's a lucky lucky man for sure! Best Wishes to them both =)

updates- in progress

So I recently completed my "purchase new bedroom furniture" goal. It originally had been to purchase an entertainment center, but then a friend found me one for free (that I'm still in the process of painting/refinishing) so I decided I needed to change that goal. Why would I make a goal to "purchase" something? Well just so I could make sure I did it this year before getting other household items and to make sure that I am actually making progress in decorating my house, which I don't spend a lot of time doing though I would like to. I decided I really wanted a new bed frame and my roommate (yep! i have a new roommate- love her) helped me find one, as well as a dresser, for what I think was a steal of a deal (thanks roomie). My awesome friend, Erin, also helped me pick it all up with her truck (thanks Erin- girl power). I've decided not to post pictures of my bedroom because...well...honestly it kinda weirds me out thinking people I don't even really know could know what my bedroom looks like...a little too personal for some reason to me.

Anyway, I've also been asked by several people where my status is with some of my remaining goals, and I know I'm pushing the time limits but I'm hoping to finish most of them.
So here's the updates
-
-visiting temples- to be honest I doubt I will get 5 more if any more...just lack of time to travel
to anymore
-anonymous one- I will totally finish this one- have 6 more left- my funds were just running
lower over the holidays so I put this one on hold

-bowl a turkey...I've decided one day I will plan with a friend and just go bowl all day till this
happens...and after like 8 hours if it doesn't I will save this till after 30

-build a piece of furniture- IN PROGRESS! I'm making a picnic table for my backyard with
my brother-in-laws help. We've already got the table top and bench tops finished...just need to
add the legs- WOWHOO!

-finding out conversion stories- IN PROGRESS- I wish i could say I was even half way (there
are 43 stories I'm looking for- more than I thought when I made this goal) but I've found
several, and will keep finding them all time I'm done. It's been a great experience to read
about my family (I usually do this on Sundays) and see how my apple doesn't fall too far from
some trees.

-hike the plateau- also something I will just up and do one Saturday with my roommate
probably. I have been told where the trail head is so this one is gonna happen for sure

-petting a crocodile/alligator- this one I'm actually still working on. There's apparently a pet
shop here in St. George that occasionally has alligators....I bet I could go hold one. I've tried to
get a hold of the owners but so far haven't heard back from them

- learn astronomy....I had intended to take a little mini weekend class but from the places that
have big planetariums, their "open to the public" classes are always on Sundays...I will work
on figuring a way to do this  differently

- Learn to change the oil and air filter- already got the friend lined up to teach me- just waiting for the next time I need an oil change and this one will be done

- learn to crotchet- IN PROGRESS- I'm not that great yet and don't feel comfortable doing things fully yet but should be up to speed before my birthday

- Learn to play a song on the guitar...I realized I know a ton of people who play so I just need to ask one of them to teach me one day....gonna work on that and should finish for sure

- Learn to use the Garmin- actually fairly simple I think but I haven't actually taken it out hiking so....this will be done soon
-Milk a cow- this is proving to be more challenging than previously anticipated. I'm having a hard time finding a cow! I've got some people locating me one though
-P90X- IN PROGRESS- let's just say I've finished 10 weeks (11th to start Monday) and that I've definitely been "feelin' this goal. My heavens I'm pretty much constantly sore some where and hungry all the time. I snack way more!
-Perfect my cartwheel....gonna do this one night when I feel hyper but it will get done

-Rope and animal while riding a horse- I have intentions of doing this in July and since it didn't happen, and I don't ride horses here regularly this probably wont happen but it's on my life list so eventually it will happen
-Study Italian- I'm going to try to start this week. I tried back in February but you need to use the booklet sometimes and while listening and repeating words on my longer drives, I realized wasn't going to work...I'm probably not going to be comfortable with Italian but I should know some very basic sayings before I'm 30.

So there you go....I am working on them. I feel confident I can achieve most of them =) I'm so grateful for all the people who are willing to help me achieve them. I've seriously been blessed with amazing family and friends!
